An amazing day and a beautiful sunset.

✨ New Photograph needs a Name! ✨

For some time I've been looking to capture a view of picturesque Shieldaig, nestled below the Torridon Hills. This aerial picture was taken just last month when everything finally came together for it to happen!

Whilst doing my research and planning for the photograph, I found this unique lochan with its own wee island above the Applecross coast road. I liked the idea of it mirroring Shieldaig Island in the middle of photograph and set about figuring out when the lighting would suit the scene best.

In the end it had to be a sunset at this time of year for the low evening light to land on the village foreground and create enough shadow interest on the hills in the background.

I hope you enjoy it. It is now available on our website under the temporary name of 'Shieldaig Sunset'. We are looking for suggestions on a more inspiring name to call it so please comment your suggestions here and share it this post to get it out there!
