"Tide Running" is an enjoyable occupation for strong swimmers when the tide is coming in. (Obviously this is not to be done when the tide is going out). It has been really fast this week and great fun! Plenty of safer, shallow swimming for little ones too

During summer there is a small craft market every Wednesday on the green. Years ago the stall holders used to dress up in old fashioned costume but they don't now. There was a fun stall there today where you could make your own necklaces. We also went to the Shipwrights Arms again where we enjoyed the most amazing crab & leek quiche & beef lasagne. It was beautiful! Well worth the short stroll there, we think it is the best place for food in Shaldon now. The village is looking fantastic.

Oh Wow, it's so lovely to see another pub serving beautiful food for our guests to enjoy! Elliot & Nancy have been open for 2 weeks now & here's our lobster, mac & cheese & brisket focaccia & yes it was DELICIOUS! Book your stay at Dolphin Cottage now & make the most of it while you're in shaldon.

A lovely day today but with a wind that was making the sea very rough! We were still able to enjoy a fabulous trip on the ferry over to Teignmouth where we had a yummy lunch at The Venus Cafe. The beach has changed shape dramatically from the storms but the Parish Council will be doing their annual beach clean and re-shuffle with the digger in time for the summer!

We've been down to the cottage today and I installed the new house sign which I painted. Many years prior to Mum buying the cottage in 1980, the Geranium which still flowers constantly in the conservatory had been in the newspaper for being one of the oldest in the country so we thought it appropriate that Geraniums featured on the sign!
