Lots of our guests at Stilligarry Cottage visit to witness the fabulous birdlife. Right now there's a very special visitor on North Uist - a blackbilled cuckoo - which was spotted in a garden at Paiblesgarry over the weekend. All the way from the USA, this is the first ever sighting in springtime in the UK of a blackbilled cuckoo. Only fourteen have been spotted in the UK before - last time in October 1997.

a very rare bird has arrived on the west side of North Uist - a blackbilled cuckoo - in a garden at Druim Dubh, Paiblesgarry today. flown from USA - this is the 1st ever sighting in springtime in the UK - last sighting was in October 1997 - only 14 ever sightings before - all in Autumn.
