Our first guests of the year are due to arrive at TaighJohn tomorrow. It’s looking like a busy season ahead and I hope our visitors love it as much as we do.

We embarked on the renovation of a long term empty property in 2018. A lot of hard work to bring it back to life and it’s so rewarding to have our guests fall in love with Harris and see there is a lot more to the island than the beautiful beaches. The Bays of Harris are a hidden gem 🥰.

A new pop up restaurant 5 mins from TaighJohn featuring local produce 😋

Blasta is a new canteen restaurant at the Bays Community Centre run by Jack and Eilidh Izat.

They are open Monday and Tuesday each week for both lunch and dinner. Our opening day will be 8th of July 2024.

Our menu will change daily and is a mixture of freshly made pasta and Hebridean shellfish. We are aiming to serve sixty people each day - thirty for lunch and thirty for dinner. We are designed to sell out each day and don't take reservations so please come along early to make sure you don't miss out!
