I’m really pleased to share that our latest CanalScapes Newsletter is now live. It’s full of updates, stories from the canal, and a look at what’s ahead as we move towards the end of the year and into a brand new season on the water. A stunning sky greeted us on the water today — calm, colourful, and full of that early‑autumn character.
We’ve just completed our busiest two‑month period since launching CanalScapes, and yet views like this never lose their magic. Every day on the water feels special.

A new chapter for our local countryside — the Burston Trail is now officially open.
I walked it this morning and it’s a beautiful mix of open fields, quiet lanes and that brand‑new bridge that finally reconnects the route.It’s the kind of walk that reminds you why Staffordshire is special: peaceful, green, and full of stories.

I’ve added a short ('ish😊) video of the trail and the new bridge so you can get a feel for it — hope it inspires a few weekend wanderers.

If you’re staying with CanalScapes, this is now one of my recommended local walks. Perfect for a gentle 90 minutes outdoors.
