Cousins sharing rooms, toys all over the playroom, hide and seek in the gardens, disappearing off to play while the grown-ups are still finishing brunch…and the teenagers are offline for a change, playing pool and having a laugh with their uncles.

Paintings, old prints and portraits sit alongside furniture and pieces that have been part of the house for years, some hailing from far beyond Kintyre!

Balinakill is an old Victorian house and we like that the interiors have evolved over time. Every room is a little different, every wall has something to look at, and there are plenty of wee details you might not notice until you’ve been here a day or two.

It’s all part of what gives the house its character and makes your stay unique.

We’ve never wanted Balinakill to feel too ‘polished.’

It’s an old house and we like that you can tell. Some original features, old furniture, slightly quirky corners and bits and pieces that have found their place here over the years are all part of its charm.

There’s plenty of space for 24 people, but it still feels like a proper home when everyone arrives, puts the kettle on, claims their favourite chair and eventually finds their way to the bar. 🍷
