We are looking for a Housekeeper to join our team here at The Etive Estate.

This is an opportunity to become part of a small, close-knit team that genuinely enjoys working together and takes pride in what we do.

We’re looking for someone who is reliable, hardworking, has a great eye for detail, and, most importantly, is a good fit for our team. Skills can be taught, but a positive attitude and kindness go a long way.

We pride ourselves on being a flexible employer and understand that life doesn’t always fit into a rigid schedule. You’ll be working in one of the most beautiful locations in Scotland, helping us care for our collection of luxury holiday properties and wedding venue.

We work hard, support one another, and always try to create a positive, enjoyable environment where everyone feels valued.

The heart of every estate isn’t the buildings or the landscape - it’s the people behind it.

In 1986, Gillian bought Etive as a family home, never imagining the incredible journey it would become.

Today, Gillian and Johnny are the beating heart of the estate.

Gillian is the friendly face behind our guest experience, taking genuine pride in ensuring every visitor feels welcome and leaves with wonderful memories. Johnny is often out and about across the West Coast, delivering to hotels and businesses through our family-run laundry business, before returning home to help keep everything at Etive running smoothly.

Together, they are the dream team. Their warmth, kindness and passion have created far more than a beautiful Highland estate - they’ve created a place that truly feels like home.

Golden hour at one of Scotland’s most iconic crossings.

Completed in 1903, Connel Bridge was originally built as a railway bridge before being converted for road traffic in 1966. At the time it opened, it had the second-longest railway span in Europe, surpassed only by the Forth Bridge. Today, its traffic lights are a familiar sight as vehicles cross the single-lane deck above the spectacular Falls of Lora.

For guests staying at The Etive Estate, the bridge is more than a landmark; it’s the gateway to the west coast. Cross it and you’re just:
• 15 minutes from Oban
• 20 minutes from Ganavan Beach
• 30 minutes from Castle Stalker
• Around 1 hour from Glencoe
• Around 2½ hours from Glasgow

Not bad for a bridge that replaced what would otherwise have been a 90-mile detour around Loch Etive.

Sometimes the journey is just as memorable as the destination.

Feral goats have been roaming the Scottish Highlands for centuries and are perfectly adapted to this rugged landscape. They can scale impossibly steep cliffs with ease, survive some of the harshest winters in Britain, and somehow always find the highest point to stand on… purely for dramatic effect.

They’re basically the Highlands’ version of mountain influencers.

Highland wildlife at its finest.

The UK is home to six species of deer: Red, Roe, Fallow, Sika, Reeves’ Muntjac and Chinese Water Deer. Here on the west coast of Scotland, red deer are by far the species we encounter most often. As Britain’s largest native land mammal, stags can weigh over 190kg and are an iconic symbol of the Scottish Highlands.

Interestingly, over the past couple of weeks we’ve also started seeing far more fallow deer around the estate. Thought to have been introduced to Britain by the Normans nearly 1,000 years ago, they’re easy to recognise by their elegant spotted coats in summer (which fade in winter), white rump patch and, in the males, distinctive broad, palm-shaped antlers.

Watching the seasons change brings subtle shifts in the wildlife too. Seeing different species begin to appear more frequently is one of the many reasons we never tire of exploring the estate’s 350 acres. Every walk offers something new, whether it’s deer grazing at dusk, red squirrels in the woodland, or birds of prey soaring overhead.
