🚐 CARAVAN DEBATE TIME! 🚐

Do you tow your caravan with the blinds open or closed? šŸ¤”

We’ve heard for years that some manufacturers recommend travelling with the blinds open to avoid putting strain on the blind springs. However, we’ve always towed with ours closed and, in nearly 9 years of caravanning, we’ve never had any issues.

So now we’re curious… what do you do? šŸ‘€

šŸ”¹ Blinds open?
šŸ”¹ Blinds closed?

Have you ever had any problems either way, or do you think it makes no difference at all?

🚨 This is definitely the worst part of caravanning… and nobody can convince us otherwise! (Finding a nice g&t in the fridge definitely helped!)🤣

The holiday might be over, but the job isn’t quite finished yet…

As much as we love getting away in the caravan, the post-holiday reset has to be one of our least favourite parts of every trip.

Emptying cupboards, putting everything back where it belongs, cleaning, tidying, and getting the caravan ready for the next adventure. It’s a far cry from sitting outside with a brew and enjoying the campsite views!

But as painful as it is, there’s something incredibly satisfying about seeing the caravan clean, organised, and ready to go at a moment’s notice.

Now comes the important question…

What’s your least favourite caravanning job?

✨ The secret to crystal-clear caravan windows? For us, it’s VuPlex!

If you’ve ever wondered how caravanners keep their acrylic windows looking clean, clear and streak-free, this is one product we genuinely wouldn’t be without.

Not only does it clean and polish caravan windows brilliantly, but it also leaves behind a protective anti-static coating that helps repel dust, grime and road dirt. It can even help reduce the appearance of fine scratches, keeping your windows looking their best for longer. šŸ‘Œ

We’ve been using VuPlex for years and it’s become a staple in our caravan cleaning kit. A quick spray, a wipe with a microfibre cloth, and the difference is incredible.

If you want clearer windows, better visibility and that showroom shine, this is definitely worth having in your caravan locker! 🚐✨

Do you use VuPlex on your caravan windows? Let us know your favourite caravan cleaning products below!

What’s one caravanning tip every beginner should know?

Give us a fully serviced pitch and we’re happy caravanners! šŸ˜šŸ•ļø

Don’t get us wrong, we’ll happily use an Aquaroll and waste container when we need to, but there’s something about arriving on a fully serviced pitch, hooking everything up, and knowing your water and drainage are sorted for the whole stay.

In this reel, we’re showing you our fully serviced pitch setup and the bits we use to make life as easy and hassle-free as possible.

Less time filling water containers and emptying waste. More time sitting outside with a brew and enjoying the holiday. ā˜•šŸ˜Ž

Are fully serviced pitches worth the extra cost? For us, absolutely!

Are you Team Fully Serviced Pitch, or are you happy with a standard pitch?

DID YOU KNOW? 😓 šŸ’¤ šŸ›Œ

A huge number of caravanners say they actually sleep better in their caravan than they do at home!

Is it the fresh air? The slower pace of life? The sound of rain on the roof? Or simply leaving the stresses of everyday life behind for a few days?

For us, there’s just something about caravan life that helps us switch off completely and enjoy a proper night’s sleep.

So let’s settle the debate…

šŸ•ļø Do you sleep better in your caravan than you do at home?

Not everyone has the budget for a roof-mounted air conditioning unit, and that’s exactly why products like this deserve a fair review.

After using the Brunner Polaris portable air conditioner throughout last summer, we can honestly say it made a huge difference to our comfort during hot weather. No, it’s not going to chill your caravan as quickly as a roof-mounted system costing several times more, but that’s not what it’s designed to do.

What it does do is gradually bring the temperature down and help maintain a much more comfortable living and sleeping environment, especially during those scorching summer days and European adventures.

In fact, we’ll be taking ours to France again this summer to help keep the bedroom cool in our new caravan. 🄶

For us, it’s a genuinely useful and affordable cooling solution that we’ve tested extensively and continue to use year after year.

Have you tried portable air conditioning in your caravan? We’d love to hear your experiences below.

Nothing humbles you quite like a caravan holiday… šŸ˜‚ 🚐

You spend days planning, checking the weather, packing everything perfectly, hitching up and setting off thinking you’ve got it all under control…

Then caravanning reminds you who’s really in charge.

A loose screw here, a forgotten item there, something that suddenly decides it no longer wants to work five minutes after arriving on site. Sound familiar?

But that’s the reality of towing a house down the road! Things are bound to go wrong from time to time, and honestly, that’s all part of the adventure.

If your caravan trips always go perfectly to plan, we’d love to know your secret!

Here’s a little reminder that not every caravan holiday is Instagram-perfect… and that’s absolutely fine. The memories (and the stories) are usually better because of it! šŸšā¤ļø

Don’t worry oli sorted it in no time!

Caravan Tip! 🚐 šŸ’”

Wondering how much gas you’ve got left in your bottle without any fancy gauges or gadgets?

Here’s a quick and easy trick…

Simply pour some hot water down the side of your gas bottle and wait a few seconds. Then run your hand down the outside of the bottle.

- Where the bottle feels cold, there’s still gas inside.
- Where it stays warm, there’s no gas.

The change in temperature will show you roughly where your gas level is, helping you avoid any unexpected surprises on your next trip away!

Have you tried this simple gas bottle hack before?
