Unload the car and relax knowing you and your dogs can unwind in this quiet, nature filled valley setting.

What will it be first? A cup of tea whilst your dogs sniff around the enclosed garden or a gentle amble around the on-site fields, stream and woodland to stretch your legs?

Choose between the traditional cottage (sleeps 4) or the lakeside cabin (sleeps 2) both of which are pet friendly and just 10 minutes from several dog friendly beaches around Perranporth.

What’s included:
🛏️ Cottage sleeps 4 (double, single and double sofa bed) and Boathouse sleeps 2 (double bed). Both with king sized duvets.

Please help us to source locally made, healthy dog treats for our welcome basket. Who do you know making these? Ideally based in Cornwall but we are happy to consider other small independent producers.

We have managed to source local tea, coffee, jam, cream, biscuits and milk in addition to soaps and hand cream.

Despite several shout outs, we have still not managed to find dog treats to add to the things you can already enjoy;

🐾Relaxing knowing the cottage has a fenced garden and patio and the boathouse has an enclosed,covered lakeview decking
🐾Freedom to explore the streams and woodland on site safely (the closest road is half a mile away)
🐾’no rush’ days with footpaths from the doorstep - no need to get in the car to go for a walk
🐾Outdoor taps for washing muddy wellies and paws - or more!
🐾Welcome baskets for humans and dogs
🐾dog friendly beaches and towns within a 10 minute drive, Perranporth is very welcoming with many of the pubs and icecream shops offering dog menus

What’s your treasured wildlife sighting?

We love to see the goslings hatched here 3 weeks ago being routinely marched between our lake and that of our neighbours.

As our current boathouse guests commented “we have witnessed so much wildlife from the balcony, we definitely don’t need a television”.

This week they have discovered where the greater spotted woodpecker nest is and watched the parents feeding their chicks, seen an otter meandering past and watched the roe deer on the hillside, in addition to the gosling shenanigans.

When was the last time you, and your dogs, felt truly relaxed? There is no need to rush with nature’s theatre playing out from your sheltered balcony.

Imagine waking to nothing but the sound of birdsong and the babbling stream

Dog friendly, dog tolerant or something else?

This is a question that has caused a bit of debate recently and we would love your thoughts.

Ventontrissick Holidays - dog friendly accommodation Cornwall you can all enjoy:

🐾Relaxing knowing the cottage has a fenced garden and patio and the boathouse has an enclosed,covered lakeview decking
🐾Freedom to explore the streams and woodland on site safely (the closest road is half a mile away)
🐾’no rush’ days with footpaths from the doorstep - no need to get in the car to go for a walk
🐾Outdoor taps for washing muddy wellies and paws - or more!
🐾Welcome baskets for humans and dogs
🐾dog friendly beaches and towns within a 10 minute drive, Perranporth is very welcoming with many of the pubs and icecream shops offering dog menus

As we host guests with, and without dogs, we ask that dogs do not go upstairs in the cottage (as it is carpeted) and do not go on the beds. We know that this does not work for everyone but, as dog owners ourselves, these are the rules we live by too.

Even dog owning guests tell us that they don’t want to sleep in a bed previously slept in by someone else’s dog, so this seems like a good compromise.

We have read comments from owners who believe that this does not make us dog friendly and suggest that we should market ourselves as dog tolerant instead. This seems quite negative and a little harsh as we truly love hosting dogs and know that dogs literally have the best time here - there is so much to sniff and explore.

We need your help, what should we call this - dog friendly, dog tolerant or something else?
