Covid Lockdown Update - January 2021

We have just received further advice from the Caravan Storage Site Owners Association (CaSSOA) regarding the latest lockdown.

We are permitted only to allow access for collection of caravans or for urgent maintenance etc to be carried out, provided that social distancing is safely maintained.

We must remind our customers that day trips or staying at another home (including a caravan) is not permitted unless it for one of the reasons specifically set out in law, such as critical workers where required for reasons relating to their work.

We have also been advised to remind our customers that permitted travel does not include visits to campsites, caravan parks or similar places, either for isolation or holidays. It is likely that these places will remain closed for the foreseeable future.

APPOINTMENT SYSTEM
If you do want to access or collect an essential item from your caravan we have been advised to operate an appointment system. Access will only be given for urgent maintenance or to collect essential items. Please contact us directly on 07876054865 to arrange an appointment.

SELF ISOLATION
Customers should be reminded that it is vital that any persons showing symptoms however mild must continue to self-isolate at home (their place of primary residence) and not look to travel to their caravan to self-isolate.

The government guidance remains that essential travel does not include visits to second homes, camp sites, caravan parks or similar, whether for isolation purposes or holidays. People must remain in their primary residence.

In addition, CaSSOA’s standard terms and our terms do not allow customers to occupy (stay overnight) in caravans on our site.

As the government have now started to amend the rules on lockdown, so are we. We have had some advice from CASSOA regarding COVID-19 and caravan storage.
The rules are still broadly the same - follow social distancing and keep washing hands.

The advice CASSOA have given us is as follows:

If customers need access to their caravan/motorhome to collect medication or perishable items, to perform maintenance, or if they need the vehicle to allow them to self-isolate, then access should be given – if this can be done safely, whilst observing social distancing.
Keep to the government recommendation of social distancing, minimise any contact between customers and between customers and staff.

To enable us to do the above safely, if you want to come to site please give us a call or send us a message via Facebook / text to let us know when you’d like to come to site, and we’ll try to make sure we don’t have too many people on site all at once.

You are welcome to park in our driveway and walk through the foot gate to avoid touching the pin code on the main gate if you prefer.

Due to the current Covid 19 restrictions on non-essential travel, we’re sure it goes with out saying but please stay at home this Bank Holiday weekend. Our storage site remains closed for the moment.

We wish you all well, and look forward to a time when we can start returning to normal and using our vans again.
