Introducing the new improved Standard mat! We have used our unique manufacturing technology to streamline our flagship Standard system, it's now just 2.0mm thick yet we've managed to retain the 3 layers of electrical insulation which in the past made our systems thicker than other manufacturers thinner cables who have skipped a layer or two. It's still fabric backed for the same perfect installation - plastic and fibreglass has been shown in tests to create a waterproof barrier between the tiles and the subfloor. More importantly it's still fantastically good value - cheaper than market leader products and best of all, like all the products in our Professional range it comes with a lifetime warranty and uniquely for the first 10 years our guarantee covers the entire floor! Can you afford not to try it? Visit: www.floorwarmingcompany.co.uk to find out more.

Underfloor Heating (UFH)
Q. Why are there so many different products and which one should I buy?A. UFH has evolved through time, from the loose cable products through to the new Matt Stretchy. As some of our clients still prefer the older products we still sell the whole range and let you, the customer decide.
Also you need to decide whether you want the UFH for floor warming or sole source of heating.

Loose Cable Systems
Underfloor heating started with loose cable systems that were handy to use in small areas but were very time consuming to install. Buy if your time is less valuable than your budget.

Conventional Mat systems
UFH developed and the cables were then stuck onto a mat backing to make installation much easier. Our systems have moved a step further with the Standard mat and Sole Source mat offering cables embroidered onto a fabric backing. The only negative aspect about conventional mat systems is that they cannot be stretched to fit the complete area. Buy if you value your time and want a quality product.

Matt Stretchy 200
We have combined the benefits of the loose cable and mat product and have come up with the perfect system Matt Stretchy. Buy if you value time, quality and the best product around at an affordable price.

Specialist products
Although all of our systems can be used in wet-rooms we make a system designed specifically for this purpose EPB, we also have systems designed for use under carpet and wooden floors. Buy if you want the best systems designed for a specific purpose. Orginal Source: thegreenhome.co.uk

Combining Heated Floors With Radiators:

If a combination system is the only option available, it is possible to install heated floors downstairs and radiators upstairs. You must make sure the two systems are run using separate timers and zone valves.

Due to the fact that heated floors and radiator systems take different amounts of time to heat up and cool down again, in places where the two systems are used within the same house they should be kept separate from each other. This is to ensure that both systems run as efficiently as possible.

Heated floors takes longer to heat up than radiators do, so running them on the same system would not allow the system enough time to reach the desired temperature. Orginal Source: thegreenhome.co.uk

Unlike radiators, which heat inefficiently room one part of the room, underfloor heating utilises the entire floor space to radiate heat, making heating the whole room much easier and more energy efficient.
The water is heated to between just 30˚C-50˚C, unlike radiator systems which require water as hot as 70˚C, and is pumped around the underfloor heating pipes.
The low temperatures and large surface area of the heated floor bring your heating bills down by around 30%.
Underfloor heating systems are easily controlled. Each room, or ‘zone’, is controllable by separate thermostats. Timings, temperatures, and certain rooms can be selected to avoid wasteful usage.
Underfloor heating is very well insulated with at least 100mm of insulation laid beneath the pipes. Floor insulation prevents any downward heat loss whilst the heat transfers to the floor covering and into the room. The low heat loss means more heat is retained and less needs to be produced.
The greater amount of heat stopped from escaping by the insulation layer in the floor means that the water remains warm even as it returns to the boiler. This in turn means that the boiler doesn’t have to work as hard and use as much energy as it would to heat radiator heating system water from cold again. Using a condensing boiler can offer even greater savings. By heating and pumping water whilst condensing the boiler works without burning gas or costing money, apart from the minor electrical cost.
