As the May half-term arrives, we look forward to greeting you.
You are going to have a great time but we must readjust to the changing weather conditions on the coast.

On Sunday and Monday there will be strong gusty winds, so stay away from cliff edges and keep your furry friends on a lead.
Consider wearing glasses/sunglasses to stop sand blowing in your eyes at the beach.

The spring tides and big waves will be pushing water around, creating surging waves and stronger rips.
Enter the sea during lifguarded hours (10am and 6pm) and follow their advice.
Keep your toddlers close if you're on the shoreline.
The beach carpark will get wet at high tide
🌊🚘 so if you don't want a corrosive chassis wash, be aware of high tide times.
Hide tides at Polzeath
Sun - 4.17am and 4.45pm
Mon - 5.10am and 5.34pm

Call 999 and ask for Coastguard and/or RNLI in a coastal emergency.

Have a lovely time and stay safe 🫶

*** TOMORROW ***
The seasonal rules apply from the 15th May until 30th September (inclusive).

Best of both!!
If you have a dog, you can enjoy the beach before 10 and after 6.
On the hotter days, this is a wise move, irrespective of beach rules, because the floor gets too hot and uncomfortable for unprotected paws, and the temperature in a car rises to critically unhealthy levels even when the window is left open.

If you prefer to enjoy the beach with no dogs (maybe the odd one or two if rules are broken), then come between 10 and 6.

Remember, there are beaches just one mile away where you can take your dog all day if the conditions are suitable.

Please watch your dog at all times.
Your dog - your p**p 💩

Act responsibly and enjoy the summer with your furry friends! 🐶🐕🐩🐕‍🦺

☆☆ The seasonal restrictions start tomorrow! ☆☆

Some easy to follow rules if you’re a dog walker in Polzeath.

The rules come in to force on the 15th May.
The 15th is the day the legislation starts, not your last day of freedom.

New Polzeath Beach, is Polzeath Beach.

Down by the water when the tide is all the way out, is Polzeath Beach.

Walking across the beach from one path to another, is Polzeath Beach.

Not on the sand, but in a beach tent or on a blanket, is Polzeath Beach.

There are quite a few signs, and if you don’t see one, you're still in breach of the legislation.
It is your responsibility to know the rules.

"It's only 1015am" and "it’s 5.45pm" are admissions of guilt - not reasons for you to break the rules.

Your dog – your p**p.
Walking your friends dog – your p**p.
Didn't see it p**p – your p**p.
No bag – your p**p.

We love dogs, and we love the beach.
This is a Blue Flag beach which is why there are restrictions for dogs.

The fixed penalty for uncomplicated breaches is £100, but fines can be up to £1000.

Leaving your dog in the car, whilst you enjoy the beach is not really an option on a warm day.

Have a lovely, happy, healthy summer, and enjoy your dogs 🐕

As the weather improves and the Easter Holidays are upon us, we look forward to welcoming visitors to Polzeath Beach.

Here are a few things to know or remember.

The carpark has been made smaller and is a slightly different shape. We will try to ensure it fills in a similar way to before, but can't account for things that happen when we're not around!
New pay machines have been installed, which take cards - so no more hunting around for spare change!
Why not explore multi-use parking options through Cornwall Council to save some money
https://www.cornwall.gov.uk/transport-parking-and-streets/parking/pay-for-parking-with-your-mobile-using-justpark/justpark-multi-use-tickets/

Dogs are banned on the beach between 10am and 6pm from the 15th May to the 30th September.
For more details, and to check other beaches follow the link below

The Enforcement Officers do check the beach, so please respect the rules.
Your dog - your p**p.
If you didnt see it happen, it doesnt mean it didnt happen.

The RNLI Lifeguards start on Polzeath Beach this coming weekend.
Please do as they ask, and pay attention to the flags.
These young men and women saved several lives last year. Try not to test them.

Fires are banned on the beach, but you can enjoy a BBQ as long as you take it with you.
Please take all your litter to the bins or take it home.
Leave the beach as you find it.

Consider joining a beach clean with Polzeath Beach Care.
Amazing volunteers who keep the beach the way you like it.
For more detail, see below.

If you see ocean plastic when you're walking the beach, why not pick it up? If you don't, it'll be around for up to 500 years.
Even better, every time you go 'take 3 for the sea'.

The toilets are now maintained by the local Parish Councils who decided to make them free to use. Please respect them.
If you become aware of any misuse, report to the Rangers or the Police.
They are getting a bit of a makeover after Easter 😊

The Rangers try to make your visit safe and enjoyable.
We will also record any lost and found.
Please say hello if you see us. We love to see your happy smiley faces!

Blue fin tuna….on our 3 hour trip today.

Atlantic bluefin tuna is a species of tuna in the family Scombridae. It is variously known as the northern bluefin tuna, giant bluefin tuna [for individuals exceeding 150 kg ], and formerly as the tunny. Atlantic bluefins are native to both the western and eastern Atlantic Ocean (Oh and off North Cornwall !)
