The Seaside Shepherd's Hut
This lovely shepherd's hut is in one of the most beautiful and peaceful locations with sea views. It sits at the bottom of a quiet, private road leading directly to the beach, less than 100 metres away. The hut is solidly built with very efficient insulation that keeps the cold out in winter and keeps the hut cool in summer. It is fully equipped, with all mains services
connected (no more emptying loos or filling tanks with water)! The huge double bed has reading lights and a USB socket for a small TV/laptop. There is also a full-size single bed and a half-size bed. The kitchen has a plug-in hob, a microwave, a kettle, a toaster, and all the plates, cutlery, glasses, and implements you need for a fully functional kitchen. There is a sink with hot and cold water, 240v sockets, and USB and cigarette lighter-type sockets. The separate bathroom has another sink and a very effective shower compartment. The location of the shepherd's hut is unbeatable. It is located on Mersea Island (quoted by The Sunday Times as one of the most beautiful places to live.) The island is accessed by a causeway that becomes impassable whenever the tide is very high! The central part of the town is only a minute's walk from the hut, and it has the best pubs, takeaways, shops, and even three supermarkets! It has its own fenced area within our garden (safe for little ones) and its own parking. There is also a lawned area with a BBQ and spectacular sea views. You can walk along the beach from the shepherd's hut to eat at various pubs or restaurants down by the harbour or the other way to see the famous beach huts that line the shore. The island is famous for seafood and hosts restaurants where patrons come from London to dine. The sea is perfect for youngsters. It is shallow at most times and has a mix of sandy and pebbly beaches. Paddle-boarders, windsurfers, kitesurfers, fishermen and all with boats love the area here for the huge sea views and the reliable wind. Children love watching the fishing boats coming in with the day's catch or the frequent races with different classes of boats. The hut's peaceful setting is ideal for those wanting to escape the bedlam of the towns, yet there is a huge amount to do for all ages.
