❤️⭐THIS REVIEW HAS MADE MY DAY! ⭐❤️

A lovely family of 6 stayed at Home by the Sea 23 last year and came back again this year... and then left me this absolute beauty! 🥰

They loved the house, the location and Weymouth, but this bit really made me smile “it has something for everyone, whatever your age, for us it was 8 to 67!” 💛

And being described as “the most lovely and generous host” honestly means so much. 🥹

Knowing how much hey enjoyed their stay and they chose to come back again makes this one extra special.

Thank you, reviews like this make all the hard work worthwhile. 🏡🌊❤️

🌑 Have you ever watched an eclipse from somewhere with a view like this? 👀

On Wednesday 12th August, you can enjoy a pretty special evening at Nothe Fort with an elevated view across Weymouth Bay as the solar eclipse takes place.

📅 Wednesday 12 August
⏰ 6:30pm – 8pm
🌑 Maximum eclipse: around 7:15pm
🎟️ FREE entry – donations welcome

Certified solar eclipse glasses will also be available for just £1 each, while stocks last.

And this isn't one to miss... it will be the closest the UK has been to total coverage of the sun for 27 years! ☀️🌑

So, who's heading out to watch it? And more importantly... who's bringing the camera? 📸

**🏡 The Story of Home by the Sea 23 – Part 3**

Have you ever walked into a house and just known it was the one? 💛

I'd been searching for the right property for quite some time, but nothing ever felt quite right.

There was never any plan to take on a full renovation project... in fact, I wasn't looking for one at all!

Then some lovely friends told me their neighbour was about to put their house on the market. I went to view it that very same day.

The moment I walked through the front door, I fell in love.

Yes, it needed a huge amount of work. Every room needed modernising, and there were moments when people genuinely thought I'd lost the plot for taking it on! 😅

But all I could see was the potential.

I could picture every room before I'd even picked up a paintbrush. I knew exactly what I wanted it to become, and I honestly couldn't wait to get started.

📸 This photo was taken the day I collected the keys. Looking back, I had absolutely no idea what lay ahead... but I knew this house was worth it.

Next time, I'll show you exactly what I took on... and why so many people thought I was completely mad! 👀🏡

🛵 If you could own any classic scooter, what would it be... a Vespa or a Lambretta? 🇮🇹

This weekend, Weymouth is set to come alive as the National Scooter Rally rolls into town! 🎉

From 17th–19th July, you'll see hundreds of incredible scooters lining the seafront, bringing colour, music and plenty of nostalgia to one of the biggest scooter events of the summer.

Whether you're a lifelong scooter enthusiast or simply enjoy soaking up the atmosphere, it's a fantastic excuse to head down to the beach, grab an ice cream and admire some amazing machines.

The evening entertainment continues at The Pavilion on both Friday and Saturday, with live music, Northern Soul and plenty of classic scooter culture. There'll also be a Trade & Custom Show at Weymouth & Portland Rugby Club on Saturday.

One of the things I love most about Weymouth is that there's always something happening. Every weekend seems to bring a different event, making every visit feel a little bit different.

Who's heading down to see the scooters this weekend? 🛵☀️🌊

🧶 Have you ever visited an exhibition that completely stopped you in your tracks?

If you're visiting Weymouth this summer, this is definitely one to add to your list.

The Longest Yarn: Britain at War has arrived at Nothe Fort from 1st July to 24th August.

This incredible 80-metre knitted and crocheted installation tells the story of wartime Britain, bringing history to life through thousands of handmade scenes that celebrate the resilience, courage and everyday lives of people during the war.

It's already been a huge success around the UK, so if you're planning to visit, it's worth booking your tickets in advance.

🎟️ More information and tickets, details in comments.

Would you go to something like this, or are you more of a beach-and-ice-cream kind of holidaymaker? 😊

🏉⚽🏐 If you had to choose just ONE sport to watch on the beach... what would it be?

Weymouth really does know how to put on an event, and this weekend it's all about Beach Rugby! Beach Rugby & Netball Festivals 🏉🌊

From Friday 10th – Sunday 12th July, the beach will be packed with teams, supporters and plenty of seaside atmosphere. Even if rugby isn't your thing, it's well worth wandering down to soak it all in.

And the best part? That's just the start...

⚽ Watching the World Cup in one of Weymouth's brilliant pubs
🏉 Beach Rugby (10–12 July)
⚓ Royal Navy Rugby Festival (15 July)
🏐 UK Beach Volleyball (24–28 July)

July is shaping up to be an incredible month for sport by the sea! ☀️

So if you're staying in Weymouth this weekend, or just fancy a day out, grab an ice cream, find a spot on the beach and enjoy the atmosphere. There's always something happening here... and that's one of the many reasons I love sharing this beautiful town with my guests. ❤️🌊

What place instantly helps you switch off from the stresses of everyday life? 🌊

The Story of Home by the Sea 23, Part 2 - Why Weymouth? 💛

Having lived in Sherborne for the last 14 years, Weymouth has always been my nearest beach and somewhere I've returned to time and time again. There's just something about being by the sea that slows life down a little. The moment I arrive, I feel calmer, the pace changes and the endless to-do list seems a little less important.

When I first viewed what would become Home by the Sea 23, it was love at first sight.

Most people thought I was completely mad. The house needed far more work than I think anyone expected, but I could instantly see what it could become. While others saw a huge renovation project, I saw a beautiful Victorian home by the sea with so much potential.

Back then, I had both of my boys, Laingham and Flash. Laingham absolutely adored the beach and couldn't get enough of the sea. Sadly he's now over the rainbow bridge, but some of my happiest memories are of watching him racing across the sand without a care in the world jumping straight into the sea. These days it's Flash who enjoys our trips to Weymouth. He's a big fan of the beach, although he's a little more selective when it comes to swimming! 🐾

The original dream was for the house to be my escape, somewhere to enjoy with family and friends, and one day my retirement home. But as life often does, things took a slightly different path. Work became busier, time became scarcer, and before long Home by the Sea became a full-time holiday home instead.

In many ways, that's even more rewarding.

Knowing other families, friends and their four-legged companions are making memories here, enjoying the beach, the harbour and everything Weymouth has to offer, feels incredibly special.

Because that's exactly why I fell in love in the first place.

When I'm sitting on the beach, especially when the sun is shining, I can simply let the world go by and not have a care in it.

And that's a feeling worth sharing🤗

What's the worst tan line you've ever come home from holiday with? ☀️😂

📸 Bonus points if you've got a photo to prove it...

We've all done it...

Forgotten to reapply the sun cream.

Fallen asleep in the sun.

Thought "it's a bit cloudy, I'll be fine."

Only to return home looking like a human map of our day out. 🤦‍♀️

👡 Flip flop stripes
⌚ Watch marks
🕶️ Sunglasses permanently etched onto your face
😳 Or the classic bright red shoulders that make putting a t-shirt on feel like an extreme sport

As summer finally seems to be making an appearance, I'd love to know...

What's the worst tan line you've ever had?

Mine has to be the classic flip-flop tan. Every year I tell myself it'll be different... every year it isn't! 😂☀️

Have you ever been to Weymouth Armed Forces Weekend? 🇬🇧

One of the biggest and most popular events in Weymouth's calendar returns this weekend, bringing together military displays, live entertainment, parades, music and a fantastic atmosphere along the seafront.

It's always an incredible few days, with visitors travelling from far and wide to show their support, remember those who have served, and enjoy everything Weymouth has to offer.

Whether you're there for the parade, the displays, the music, or simply to soak up the atmosphere by the sea, it's another great reminder of why Weymouth is such a special place to visit throughout the year.

If you're lucky enough to be in town this weekend, expect plenty of activity, lots of community spirit and hopefully a bit of sunshine too! ☀️🌊

Who's been before, and what's your favourite part of Armed Forces Weekend?
