Hi again.
Just had confirmation that one of my favourite local bands, the Jolly Boys Outing https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100039719815296 , are booked for our mid-summer music weekend. They will be performing on the evening of Saturday 20th June. This should get us in the right mood to celebrate the solstice on the 21st.
Culliford Tree is a epic place to watch the Sun rise. On the historic South Dorset Ridgeway, surrounded by Neolithic monuments, with an uninterrupted view to the east. I Really hope you can join us. Best wishes, Tim

The sun is out and thoughts turn to the camping season!
Having taking the offering at Culliford Tree right back to basics last season, we have decided to reintroduce one or two LIVE MUSIC weekends.

Very excited to confirm we have Zoe Schwartz https://www.zoeschwarzmusic.com/ and her band booked for Saturday 27th July 2026. Hi Folks. The forecast for the weekend is clear skies, 25 degrees and a gentle breeze. Perfect camping weather! to celebrate, we are opening the bar from 7-10pm on Saturday. On draft, we have chilled Birra Murano at £5 per pint. So if you want to escape the heat of the town and enjoy fresh air and epic views please do join us.

Dear Campers,

The camping season is almost upon us, we look forward to welcoming you soon.

This year and going forward, we will be operating solely from our Culliford Tree site. Due to farming commitments, the land at Donkey Down is now being served by cattle, which our campsite owner Tim, proudly shows us here. We will still be using the trading name.

Recent changes to permitted development rules means that we are now restricted to a maximum of 50 pitches at any one time. This means, sadly, that the live music and the bar at weekends are no longer viable options. The upside of the rule change is that there will be a lot more space on the campsite! The online booking system at Booking – Donkey Down is geared toward couples camping, to make the most of our 50 pitches. We are also happy to cater for groups and solo visitors, but please phone me first to get the best deals. Very large groups can hire the whole site if they book early enough!

Visitors can still expect the same great facilities. You can still enjoy the peace and quiet, the epic views and the fabulous night skies. You can still hire a fire pit and buy some logs. The bar and stretch tent will also be on site, for occasional, impromptu, get togethers, when the weather and situation demand it.
