🇫🇷🏰 Bastides en Fête – celebrating the beautiful bastide towns of South West France 🌞

This October, historic bastide towns across Lot-et-Garonne and Dordogne come alive with festivities celebrating their rich heritage, medieval architecture and wonderful local traditions.

From charming squares and arcaded streets to local markets and entertainment, it’s a lovely opportunity to experience the authentic character of the French countryside.

🍂 Autumn is a lovely time to visit South West France. Why not make a long weekend of it? 🏡

☀️ If you’re thinking about squeezing in one more holiday this year, there’s still time! 💦

September in South West France has been GLORIOUS, and October is expected to be just as lovely.

Plenty of sunshine, breezy days and warm evenings 🌻

Don’t forget, you can travel with flexible arrival and departure days, and stay for less than a week during the shoulder season. Some of our larger estates also offer reduced occupancy discounts 🇫🇷😊

We found it! 🤩
After an hour of walking up and down the wrong field, we finally found the “secret” swimming hole in Lauzerte 🌿

Our guests can now make the most of this hidden gem. Earlier in the year, water flows through the opening from the adjoining river, and the pool is deep and wide enough for swimming.

It’s an incredibly peaceful and beautiful spot — and well worth looking for! 😊

Especially perfect for our two properties in Lauzerte village centre: Le Petit Bijou and La Terrasse Ensoleillée — the village right on your doorstep, and wild swimming just 15 minutes away on foot. Don’t worry we'll provide photos with our instructions on how to find it 😂😂
