Whitby Pirate Festival returns this August Bank Holiday! Save the dates, gather your crew and prepare for an unforgettable August Bank Holiday by the sea! 🏴‍☠️⚓

Get ready to hoist the colours as Whitby Pirate Festival sails back into town from Friday 28 to Monday 31 August 2026, raising funds for Whitby RNLI.

Expect a full weekend of pirate-themed fun, live music and swashbuckling entertainment across Whitby.

Dust off your finest pirate outfit and prepare to impress the judges!

Live music will be at the heart of Whitby Pirate Festival, with two lively performances taking place at Eighteen91 over the August Bank Holiday weekend.

On Saturday 29 August, The Captain’s Beard will take to the stage with roaring sea shanties, foot-stomping folk-rock and riotous tales of Cockney mermaids, mad monarchs and fearsome rubbish wagons. Tickets are £15.

The entertainment continues on Sunday 30 August with East Town Pirates. Hailing from Suffolk and inspired by East Anglian folklore, the band brings catchy tales of smuggling, drinking, piracy and debauchery to life through stomping rhythms, powerful vocals and plenty of audience participation. Tickets are £10, making it the perfect way to round off a swashbuckling weekend in Whitby.
