🚋 The wait is over!

We are delighted to announce that the iconic Saltburn Cliff Tramway will officially reopen tomorrow, Friday 28 August at 10.30am.

Following a major refurbishment programme and the installation of new handcrafted carriages, visitors can once again enjoy a ride on Saltburn's most treasured heritage attraction while taking in the spectacular coastal views that make Saltburn so special.

We look forward to welcoming everyone back on board! ✨

This sounds like a good few days 📚

Whitby is preparing to welcome some of the biggest names in books, broadcasting, food, and entertainment as Whitby Lit Fest returns from 19th to 22nd November 2026.

Over four days, the festival will offer more than 50 author events, celebrating novels, poetry, history, food, performance, and storytelling in the town that inspired Bram Stoker’s Dracula.

The 2026 line-up already features Ann Cleeves, Joanne Harris, Mark Billingham, Dr Sian Williams, Greta Scacchi, Si King, and Corinne Bailey Rae, with many more names to come.

One of this year’s headliners is John Boyne, the internationally acclaimed author of The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas. He will talk about his new novel, The Weight of Angels, with broadcaster and novelist Steph McGovern.

Si King, known from the Hairy Bikers, will share food and stories at the festival. He will talk about his first solo cookbook, Proper Home Cooking, and share highlights from his career.

Falling Foss Tea Garden is now open every weekend throughout July and August. 🌿

Good news for summer walkers, waterfall chasers and cake lovers: Falling Foss Tea Garden will be open every weekend throughout July and August.

Tucked away in the grounds of Midge Hall, beside the beautiful Falling Foss Waterfall, this rustic outdoor tea garden is one of the North York Moors’ loveliest hidden gems. Think picnic tables, wellies and woodland views rather than fine china and tablecloths.

Visitors can enjoy freshly baked scones with jam and cream, homemade cakes, barista coffee, speciality teas and locally made dairy ice cream, all served in the heart of an ancient forest.

It’s also the perfect stop-off after exploring nearby walking routes. One of our favourites is the Hermitage and Falling Foss circular walk, a short but magical route through Littlebeck Woods featuring a hidden hermit’s cave, peaceful woodland paths, the waterfall and, of course, a well-earned tea garden treat at the end.

Just a 15-minute drive from Whitby, it’s a lovely little summer adventure for anyone looking to slow down, breathe in the forest air and let nature do the rest.
