Hillcrest Hotels are proud to offer comfortable accommodation for travellers in all our locations, furthermore some of our Hotels offer facilities for people to enjoy celebrations. Our Widnes Hotel has been trading since August 2021, and has always been open to the general public, to use our Bar, Function Spaces and Hotel Rooms.
We are aware that rumours have spread online that we currently housing Asylum Seekers in our Widnes Hotel, furthermore that there is a potential protest scheduled on September 20th 2025. We can confirm that we are a fully trading Hotel that DOES NOT house Asylum Seekers, we are disappointed to hear that this rumour is still circulating, after we have released statements on numerous occasions denying this rumour. We believe not only does this rumour affect our reputation, but also spoils the enjoyment of the guests who visit us or hold celebrations with us.
We can assure all our guests who are visiting on Saturday, that the Hotel is safe and secure, and have a zero tolerance towards any illegal activity that may occur on our sites.
Furthermore we can confirm that Halton and Liverpool Council and Cheshire Police are aware of the situation.
In Conclusion we vehemently deny that the Hotel houses Asylum Seekers, and are extremely disappointed that this rumour continues to circulate. Finally we would like to praise all our team members who over the last few months have had to deal with the fall-out of this rumour and Thank them for their support.
