What better way to spend a Saturday than on one of our Fish and Chip trains!

Once again, we are teaming up with Geoff Allan Catering to bring you 3 Fish & Chip Trains on Saturday 11 July, with departures at 12pm & 2:30pm.

This is your only opportunity in 2026 to ride on Northumberland's only Standard Gauge Heritage Railway whilst savouring Delicious, Freshly Cooked, Traditional Fish & Chips on board our Steam Hauled Service.

The cost is just £35 per person!

Or if you wish to be seated together as a group of up to 4 people, the cost of exclusive use of a private compartment including food is £140!

All passengers can enjoy the following:
● 1x return steam hauled trip to Greenrigg Halt.
One main menu choice of:
● Haddock and Chips (fried in beef dripping)
● Fried Chicken Breast Quarter and Chips
● Battered or Fried Sausage and Chips
● Vegetarian Onion Pattie and Chips (fried in vegetable oil)
● Vegetarian Burger and Chips (fried in vegetable oil)
Plus one side order of:
● Mushy Peas
● Curry Sauce
● Gravy
Accompaniments of Tomato Ketchup, Mayonnaise, Tartar Sauce, Salt & Vinegar.
Free Drinks:
● Unlimited tea or coffee for each passenger will be served throughout the journey.
Additional Drinks:
Soft and alcoholic drinks available to purchase at the time of booking.
The experience will last approximately 1 and a half hours and will commence 30 minutes before departure time.

A stunning new pub called The Canny Owl has not long opened in a glorious part of rural Northumberland.
Right on the doorstep of a holiday park, the £1.2m venue looks like being a huge hit with both locals and visitors to the area.
