A little bathroom reveal from Menagerie House — starring the hand-painted checkerboard floor, which took approximately 400 years and at least one mild existential wobble.
Painting a floor is glamorous for about 12 minutes. After that it’s just you, a brush, and the slow realisation that backs were not built for this.
Still… it was completely worth it. The whole room now feels like it belongs in the Menagerie: playful, a bit theatrical, and properly design-led.

Also: yes, Pocket Cottage has a checkerboard too. Some people collect magnets. I collect impractical paint projects.
