“We were looking for somewhere to stay to attend a relative’s wedding in Cardiff and an evening reception in the old market in Newport. This was a perfect location, just 5 minutes drive from the M4 with easy connections to both cities. The information from Chris before and during the visit was helpful. The house is very well appointed and comfortable inside, and perfect for short visits/breaks. The kitchen is well equipped as well as the bathroom. The living room is comfortable, and the bedrooms have ample storage space, and we all found the beds comfortable. We are happy to recommend the accommodation to others, and will hope to book this for future visits to our relatives in Cardiff.”

“To say Chris’ place was spotlessly clean is an understatement!
It’s a beautiful house with an amazing kitchen and very comfortable bedrooms - I just cannot fault any aspect of it.
There was a wildfire nearby on the day we arrived and the weather was very hot, so the cleaners had very thoughtfully closed all the windows and curtains so it wouldn’t smell of smoke but left fans on in all the
bedrooms so it wouldn’t be unbearably hot - what a kind thought!”

Six years of hosting, and still raising the bar 🏡✨

Our portfolio has grown year on year, but one thing has never changed: our standards. Since the very beginning, we’ve been awarded Airbnb Superhost status every single quarter, a reflection of the care, consistency and attention we give every guest and every stay.

More properties. More guests. The same high standards.🤍

Why do we employ our own cleaning team? 🧹✨

Because in short-term accommodation, cleanliness can make or break a guest’s stay.

Our recent 5⭐ reviews have described our properties as:

“Spotlessly clean”
“Immaculate”
“Pristine”
“Clean and well maintained”

Having our own team means we can train to our standards, maintain consistency, take pride in the details and work together to continually improve.
The result? Happy guests, brilliant reviews and properties we’re proud to put the Solace Stays name to. 🏡⭐

A huge thank you to our cleaning team — our reviews are yours too. 👏

17 quarters. No shortcuts.

Airbnb just confirmed something I’m genuinely proud of:

17 straight quarters as a Superhost.

That’s not luck.
That’s consistency.
That’s systems.
That’s standards.
That’s caring about the details when nobody’s watching.

Every guest message answered.
Every clean held to a standard.
Every issue handled fast.
Every stay treated like it matters.

Because reputation is built in the quiet moments.
And in this game, consistency is everything.

If you’re a host, you’ll know exactly what this takes.

Drop a “host” in the comments if you’re building something serious too.

This is what running serviced accommodation really looks like.

January: steady Monday to Friday with our direct bookings for work.
Quiet weekends.
A slower start to the year overall.

But we know February is just around the corner and we already took some lovely weekend bookings. Here are just a few 💵 🏉

It’s not about panicking when things feel slow.
It’s about knowing your seasons, staying consistent, and being ready when demand returns.

“We spent Christmas at Falls Cottage and it was absolutely wonderful. As the kids have all reached teenage we wanted to add to our Christmas fun with waterfalls and a hot tub! The cottage was stunning - as with all Solace Stays properties that we have experienced - its hotel standards with a home feel. Every little detail has been considered and adds to the luxe home aesthetic. For Christmas we were provided with some very thoughtful extras as well as a beautiful tree. Chris is a great host, clear communication without overload. We spent hours on the 4 waterfalls walks, even in winter it is stunning - maybe more so as there were no crowds at all! After all the walking, the hot tub was a real treat, in the dark, looking up at the stars- special memory making. We will definitely be having a look at which Solace Stays property to try next - thank you!”

What a December.

We’ve just had our biggest December for bookings since we started and it’s a great way to close out the year on a high.

January is usually known as a quieter spell, but we’re using that time properly. Now that we’re managing our own in house cleaning team, we’ve got the luxury of stepping back and creating more systems, tightening standards, and making sure every house is in top shape heading into spring.

Maintenance lists are back out and we’re ready to hit 2026 rolling.

And the best part, we’ve already got some brilliant event bookings secured for the year ahead.
