We were proud to see Madona Megrelishvili, General Manager of ibis Tbilisi Airport, take part as a speaker at the 8th International Conference: Standards in Tourism, organized by the Georgian Tourism Association -GTA, საქართველოს ტურიზმის ასოციაცია
As part of the session, Madona shared the experience of ibis Tbilisi Airport as a pilot hotel of the World Sustainable Hospitality Alliance program. After completing the full program, the hotel had the opportunity to put sustainability principles into practice and better integrate them into everyday operations.
She spoke about what the program brought to the hotel in practical terms from strengthening internal processes and team awareness to creating a more structured approach to sustainable hospitality.
Drawing on this experience, Madona also shared insights on how international sustainability standards can be translated into real, day-to-day hotel practices.
It was a valuable opportunity to exchange knowledge, share experience and contribute to the wider conversation around responsible and sustainable hospitality in Georgia.
