Some dishes tell the story of a place better than any guidebook 🌱
The traditional Greek salad, known as Horiatiki or Village salad began as a humble meal enjoyed by farmers using whatever was fresh and in season. Simple ingredients from the garden, brought together with olive oil and care. While the modern salad with its big block of feta came later.
Perhaps that is what makes Greek food so special. A simple dish, a rich history, and generations of people gathering around the same table.
Don’t forget to mix the salad before you eat it and when done to soak up the oil with bread.
