So our holiday retreat is on an island and is off grid :

As a matter of interest:
10,000 litre concrete water tank that collects rainwater run-off from hill side. Providing 4m of head pressure.

12v solar system:
600w solar panels (2x 300w 24v)
Sole 160Ah + 200Ah 12v Gel battery.
Victron mppt 150/100 -tr solar controller
Nikkai 3000w inverter.

We run
12v led lighting (4 bulbs).
12v evaporating fridge coolbox
12v fan x2

240v kettle
240v Phones and laptop charging and wifi router
1kw inline water heater for shower.

We typically use 1.5kwh - 2.5kwh per day.

We use propane gas to cook with. We buy bottled drinking water. Toilet is to soakaway.

Plans:
Be independent of gas.
Create a drinking water solution.
Possible composting toilet.
