Our first boutique hotel was born 20 years ago in Amed, in a quiet little bay with black sand and a coral reef that takes your breath away. Now, it's still a little boutique hotel, still has the black sand and the coral reef; the only changes to mention is a new menu, and renovations have started to breath life back into our little bungalows.

Imagine this; you are on holiday on a beautiful tropical island, you find a little bay with some stunning resorts and a black sand beach. You ask yourself, how can it get better than this? What if I told you those resorts have restaurants with some of the best food you’ll have this side of Bali? And you think, well it can’t get much better than that. Well, you are in absolute luck! There is some amazing snorkelling just a few meters off the beach, the water is refreshing without being cold, the coral reef is full of fish, and now there are turtles! Turtles return to the beach in which they hatch, this means we get yearly visits from mature turtles, some come to lay eggs, some just take a little holiday in Lipah.

Time to pack your bags and snorkelling gear and come see the turtles in Lipah!

Rubbish. Refuse. Trash.
What ever you call it, we are always looking at ways to work with the local community to improve the rubbish issue. Amed Green Alliance (AGA) is a dedicated group of local Amed businesses and residents who feel strongly about the issue, and want to make a change. AGA has recently met at Hidden Paradise in the multi-purpose function room, looking out over the beach and ocean. We wholeheartedly support groups wanting to make changes to our trash issue, and look forward to all the initiatives discussed in the meeting.

Have you heard about Trash Here’s? It’s an international group dedicated to picking up rubbish from waterways, and Amed has their own group working every week. This week we had a group of students from Malaysia helping out while on a school trip. And Hidden Paradise Cottages always support them.
