From seed to season 🌾
A glimpse of our terrace rice fields after harvest grown right here at our homestay, the way it has been done for generations.
Sikkim is home to many indigenous rice varieties from the nutty heirloom red rice to small grain aromatic types lovingly nurtured in mountain terraces.
Each variety carries the wisdom of the land, shaped by monsoon rains, clean water and organic soil.
Harvested just a month ago these fields once glowed golden reflecting the quiet rhythm of rural life and Sikkim’s deep connection to rice not just as food but as culture, tradition and sustainability.
Here every grain tells a story of patience, purity and the seasons of the hills.
