The Forgotten Legacy: The Historic Wooden Huts of Gurez Valley 🏔️✨

Nestled deep in the heart of Gurez Valley, these rustic wooden huts are more than just homes—they are living relics of a centuries-old way of life. Built using local deodar and fir wood, these huts have stood the test of time, sheltering generations of Dard-Shina people, the original inhabitants of Gurez.

Why Are These Huts Unique?

✅ Traditional Architecture – Made without nails, using interlocking wooden logs for insulation and durability.
✅ Harsh Winters? No Problem! – The sloped roofs and thick wooden walls help retain heat during freezing winters.
✅ A Testament to Resilience – These huts have survived the toughest weather conditions for hundreds of years, showcasing the ingenuity of Gurez’s people.

Did You Know? 🤔
• Some of these huts are over 100 years old!
• They reflect the ancient Dardic culture, which has roots dating back to the Silk Route era.
• Many traditional homes are now being abandoned due to modernization, making them a rare sight today.

Would you love to experience this untouched heritage firsthand? Plan your stay at Hotel Grand Gurez and step into history! 🏡✨
