Here comes the first post of our group. Last week I was traveling back to Bangalore from my native. It was a hectic 11 hour journey in train. I boarded the train at 5.30 pm. I usually carry my dinner with me (home cooked) but due to some circumstances I couldn't carry that time.
The train usually stops in Trichy Junction for half an hour. I already had a very bad experience with the food that is being sold in platform. Suddenly IRCTC food delivery service came to my mind. Ordering is very simple. You have to enter your PNR no and select the delivery location. IRCTC will take of the rest. Ordered 4 items on the go. To my surprise, the delivery guy came to my seat and delivered it.
Coming to the food which I ordered. 1 veg biryani, 1 masala omlet, fruit salad and fresh juice. Total damage to the wallet is 320 bucks. Coming to the taste and quality, biryani was excellent and it was accompanied by a gravy and onion raitha (yeah... Perfect match) . Even though it's a veg biryani, the taste and flavor was awesome. Most importantly less irritants and it was spicy at the mean time. Next is masala omlet. It was a perfect mix. Everything was up to the mark and slightly juicy. Fruit salad and fresh juice, both quality and quantity wise OK only. To summon up, rather than depending on cheap food items on your train journey, avail these kind of services and have a healthy and tasty meal.
