Hey everyone, it’s Edik Na Odik Vlogshere!
Today, we’re taking a trip on the iconic Panihati Ferry Ghat, a local gem that whisks you across the mighty Hooghly River!
The Panihati Ferry Ghat is located in the bustling town of Panihati, West Bengal. It’s a fantastic way to experience the daily life of Kolkata and its surrounding areas.
Here’s how you can visit:
Getting There:
By Metro: Take the Kolkata Metro to Baranagar Station. From there, you can grab an auto-rickshaw or rickshaw for a short ride to the ghat (around 15-20 minutes).
By Bus: Several buses ply between Kolkata and Panihati. Look for buses mentioning “Panihati Ferry Ghat” or “Ramkrishna Palli” (the locality).
At the Ghat:
The Panihati Ferry Ghat has a single jetty and offers frequent ferry services to the Konnagar Ferry Ghat on the opposite bank of the hoogly river
The Ferry Ride:
The ferry ride itself is a delightful experience. Enjoy the cool breeze and stunning views of the Hooghly River. Keep an eye out for traditional boats and other vessels navigating the water.
The ride takes about 10-15 minutes, depending on the current. Once you reach the Konnagar side, you can explore the local markets or take another ferry back to Panihati.
Tips:
Wear comfortable shoes as you might need to walk a bit at the ghat.
Carry some cash for ferry tickets and any snacks you might want to buy.
