After just eight years of growing this beautiful food forest on six acres that was just a sugar cane field ( it sure feels like a lifetime), we are still amazed at how the food forest continuously transforms itself every season.

Spread over seven acres this homestead and farm stay is a tranquil haven for nature lovers just an hour and a half from the Capital. Located in the fertile Gangetic plains the farm allows one to make a quick getaway and experience a slice of rural life and also learn how and where our food is born. The farm is full of rescued animals and if you are a dog lover it’s paradise. The fabulous food is vegan and delicious. We serve a diversity of cuisines from across india and elsewhere and the menu is an illustration of how one can eat sumptuously in a most humane way especially in a tropical landscape where grains, legumes, vegetables, herbs and fruits are in abundance.

Shreevanam in Spring🌺
Shreevanam is a food forest grown and nurtured by Beejom in the northern Gangetic plains over 6-7 years. From a very boring sugarcane field, it is turning into a magical food forest.
It's the very last of Spring here actually. As April knocks on our door, the weather is much more balmy and some hot winds have begun to blow.
Yet the warmer days give in to cooler nights. Every tree has a blossom and every bird has a song. It's always been our favourite season in the food forest.

Located in Bulandshahr; just over an hour away from Delhi, it falls under the National Capital Region and well connected by a wonderful highway.

Recently we hosted a group of school teachers and what a wholesome day they had. They enjoyed the pottery, interacting with the local village ladies and our farm animals, tried their hand at chakki, and enjoyed our delicious South Indian platter and kathal biryani with beetroot raita.🌺

We absolutely adore having kids visit Shreevanam! It's such a joy to see their eyes light up as they explore the food forest around us. Watching them eagerly interact with the cows, feeding them with a mix of nerves and excitement, is truly heartwarming. Their enthusiasm is contagious, especially when they witness a village lady using an Okhli or muster the strength to use one. Without a doubt, they are our favourite guests, and we can't wait to welcome more little adventurers with open arms!

✨🌾Celebrate Lohri with Beejom🌾✨
This week we will be celebrating Lohri at Shreevanam- The Beejom Food Forest at Bahanpur.

Do come and celebrate this beautiful farm festival with us in a village just an hour from NCR.

This is the month of Paush and the passing of the winter solstice announces the beautiful festival of Makar Sankranti;
Celebrated across india as many names like Lohri Bihu and Pongal,
Its also the time for the winter harvest of the Rabi crops and the end of the short cold days of winter.

There will still be the warmth of a bonfire ;
The flavours of khichdi from across many Indian states
Seasonal Cuisine khet se pet tak straight off the mitti ka Chulha
Sarson ka saag and makki ki roti with the freshest jaggery
Garam Garam Chai and Urad Dal Jalebis in fresh jaggery syrup on a Charpoy
Fresh Ganna and Ras
All under the balmy winter sun in a tropical food forest.

Enjoy the flavours of Makar Sankranti with us and make it memorable with your loved ones. The various customs and traditions attached to the festival of Lohri signifies the harvesting of the Rabi crops. The people of Northern India, especially Punjab and Haryana celebrate Lohri, to mark the end of winter. Harvested fields and front yards are litup with flames of bonfires, around which people gather to meet friends and relatives and sing folk songs. Lohri celebrates fertility and the joy of life. People gather around bonfires, throw sweets, puffed rice and popcorn into the flames. The prasad comprises of five main items: til, gajak, jaggery, peanuts, and popcorn. Winter savories are served around the bonfire. The bonfire will be specially lit using our wonderful Beejom dung logs.
