We are trying to get back to being more active on social media, hopefully this time we remember photograph all our guests 😊

A few days ago my homestay host,
Priyak (network engineer, guide, fixer, cook,
and just about everything else in between a Ca), took
me to visit the incredibly beautiful pine forest in
Lamahatta Village.
These enormous pine trees are indigenous to the area
and once used to cover the whole of Darjeeling until
the British came and levelled them for the tea
plantations.
When we arrived we had a reasonably clear view but
shortly thereafter the clouds closed in giving a
beautiful eerie feel.
We wandered through the forest, but at some point
Priyak said we might encounter a wild bear, boar or
even leopard so it was a good idea not to go too far
The first photo is Priyak sitting on a large granite
boulder contemplating the world. When I saw him
sitting like this I told him not to move as it made the
perfect picture &
Give me a forest, a river and mountains and I'm an
exceptionally happy girl.
