Chitshakti Vilas Retreat Home
Locally known as the "All Seasons Villa" with its spiritual name ("Chitshakti Vilas") this commissioned life in July'19. Designed on lines of a "Charleston style" house in the US this is a one of its kind property in Dharamshala and the region. It faces the magnificent Dauladhar himalayan range. Minimalist designs in its five huge bedrooms and includes a kitchen / dining with ultra-modern gadgets. There is a vegetable garden and we offer home-cooked food on demand. 10 min to trekking spots.
We position ourselves as a "Modified Single Charleston style home" with covered piazzas (porches) running along the front. The piazza is a covered open veranda, supported by columns or pillars, that stretches down the long side of the house offering additional outdoor living space where our guests can enjoy the views of the side gardens. The gardens offer ample space for people to enjoy barbeques and take a long stroll. There is also a large terrace with 360 degree views of breathtakingly beautiful natural and built environment (mcleodganj) scenery.
The big rooms (30 x 12 feet) are all naturally very well lit with very comfortable double beds having 8 inch mattresses. There is also an intimate dining space for 10 people with a small kitchenette that offers the convenience for self-cooking. The house also has a vegetable garden in the annex (owner home) where we seasonally grow green peas, okra, bitter gourd, spinach, cucumber, brinjal, cauliflower, raddish, potatoes, lime, onion, pears, peach, grapefruit and plums. For those who prefer to be served food than make their own, an excellent in-house cook prepares Pahari (Himachali) and Punjabi cuisine.
There are trekking trails that begin 10 minutes from where we are located. Neighbouring villages make for excellent walks.
