Prabhukochrekar’s Hotel Sanman in Kudal is one of the best places where you can find authentic Malvani food in Kudal Konkan.
You can treat yourself with fresh different Konkan delicacies from Pomfret (Paplet) to Oysters (Kalva). The speciality of this food is the fish curry cooked in coconut and Szechuan pepper (Tirphal) giving it a peculiar taste. A few special fish that you must try Mackarel (Bangda), Crabs (Khekade), Shark (Mori), Seer (Surmai), Indian Salmon (Rawas), Clams (Teesrya), Prawns (Kolambi) and Bombay Duck (Bombil). You would also find some native fish (based on availability) like Sardines (Pedvey) and Butter fish (Saudalo), I tried both and trust me it was luscious.
