Dear RPS Family
I write today with an update on how we are responding to the outbreak of COVID-19. We know this is a rapidly evolving and very challenging situation. The World Health Organization officially declared this to be a pandemic and the Government of India has imposed a lockdown to prevent the spread of the disease.
The principle that has guided us up to this point is to maintain the mission of the School as much as possible consistent with preserving the health of every part of our community. To that end, we have started preparing homework and other classroom materials that will be sent to you shortly to keep your children learning and critically engaged throughout the period of closures. We are also considering other options for making up last classroom time.
We assure our RPS family of parents we have already undertaken further steps to prevent the spread of the virus. Specifically, we have reduced the number of people in our residential campus, to the bare minimum with no outsiders allowed. We have also instituted rigorous disinfectant cleaning regularly on campus and will do so even more zealously before students return. All RPS work related travel has also been suspended.
Starting today, we shall also be reaching out to parents on an even more frequent basis through assorted media to keep you updated on a range of issues in this extraordinary time.
This is a hard time for all of us. We are concerned about every student, colleague, friend, and neighbor. Clearly, balancing all of the interests of all parts of the institution is an extraordinarily complex undertaking. We are so grateful to all of you and especially to those who daily help us chart the right course for RPS through this crisis.
Stay *home*, stay safe, stay healthy.
Sincerely
Dr. Anupama Jha
