उत्तर प्रदेश के गाजियाबाद में हाल ही में पुलिस ने एक ऐसा चोर पकड़ा, जिसकी कहानी सुनकर हर कोई चौंक गया। ये कोई आम चोर नहीं था, बल्कि उसकी सोच और काम करने का तरीका इतना अलग था कि लोगों ने उसे “विकास वाला चोर” कहना शुरू कर दिया।

पुलिस के अनुसार, ये शख्स सिर्फ विधायकों, सांसदों और रसूखदार नेताओं के घरों में चोरी करता था। लेकिन जो बात सबसे हैरान करने वाली थी, वो ये कि ये चोरी की कमाई से गांवों का विकास करता था, गरीबों की मदद करता था और कई गरीब बेटियों की शादियाँ भी करवा चुका था।

कौन है ये “विकास वाला चोर”?
इस चोर का असली नाम फिलहाल गोपनीय रखा गया है, लेकिन उसकी उम्र लगभग 35 वर्ष बताई जा रही है। वह एक मध्यम वर्गीय परिवार से ताल्लुक रखता है और उसने कभी खुद गरीबी और भुखमरी का सामना किया था। उसकी मां एक सफाई कर्मचारी थीं और पिता दिहाड़ी मजदूर।

उसने बचपन में कई बार देखा कि कैसे गरीब बेटियों की शादी सिर्फ पैसों के अभाव में नहीं हो पाती, कैसे गांव के बच्चे पढ़ाई छोड़ देते हैं क्योंकि स्कूल की छत टूटी होती है, और कैसे नेता विकास के नाम पर सिर्फ वादे करते हैं।

नेताओं को बनाया निशाना
इस चोर ने किसी आम आदमी को कभी नुकसान नहीं पहुँचाया। उसका निशाना सिर्फ वही नेता और बड़े लोग होते थे जो खुद को जनता का सेवक बताते हैं, लेकिन असल में करोड़ों की संपत्ति जुटाकर जनता की मेहनत की कमाई पर ऐश करते हैं।

वह चोरी के लिए ऐसा वक्त चुनता था जब घर खाली होते थे और किसी को शक न हो। उसने कई नेताओं के घरों से लाखों रुपये और कीमती सामान चुराया, लेकिन अपने लिए कभी कोई ऐशोआराम नहीं किया।

कहां खर्च करता था चोरी का पैसा?
गांवों में पानी की टंकियाँ बनवाईं

बच्चों के लिए स्टेशनरी और स्कूल यूनिफॉर्म खरीदी

गरीब लड़कियों की शादी करवाई और जरूरत का सामान भी खुद देता था

बूढ़ों के लिए चप्पल, दवाई और चादरें उपलब्ध करवाईं

यह सब उसने चुपचाप, बिना किसी प्रचार के किया। यहां तक कि कुछ जगहों पर लोगों को आज तक नहीं पता कि विकास कार्य किसने करवाया।

पुलिस का रुख और समाज की सोच
जब पुलिस ने उसे पकड़ा, तो पहले तो उसे एक "अपराधी" की तरह पेश किया गया। लेकिन जब उसके इरादे सामने आए, तो पुलिसकर्मियों को भी दुविधा हुई कि वे इस इंसान को अपराधी कहें या मसीहा।

कानून के अनुसार, चोरी अपराध है — और यह बात सही भी है।
