An 85 km drive from Calicut city can reach you to PUTHUMALA, WAYANAD, INDIA. Puthumala Waterfalls are situated at a distance of 10kms from Meppadi town towards the very famous Soochipaara waterfalls. Soochipaara waterfalls have always been a tourist attraction where the tourists flock throughout the year. Puthumala is situated 2kms before the Soochipaara waterfalls.
The Puthumala waterfalls are situated inside a coffee plantation in Puthumala. The plantation is surrounded by lush tea plantations arranged in a very beautiful way. The 20 minute drive from Meppadi town offers scenic views of some of the best tea estates in Wayanad. The place is accessible by any car. The best time to visit this place is from June to October or during the rainy season.
This place offers endless scope for trekking, rock climbing, enjoying the aroma of cardamom plants and an experience walking through the lush coffee trees.
There are many small cascading waterfalls here of all heights. You can only access the top most waterfall by climbing through the rocks. As you climb up the rocks, you can see that the height of the waterfalls and rocks are increasing. The highest waterfall has an altitude of 35 feet. Being not too risky to climb up here, everybody can enjoy. All you need is a group of 5 to 10 people. Remember you are free to enjoy without any worries and limitations as no strangers will be around.
