Caspian Trek is dedicated to responsible nature tourism, especially trekking, culture and relaxation in Northern Iran. Khoone Geli is our ecolodge, a beautiful wattle and daub house richly influenced by local traditional architecture. It was designed and built by Farzin Malaki in 2002, on a tea plantation that has been a Malaki family retreat for over 90 years. Its privileged location -between the

southern coast of the Caspian Sea and the Alborz mountains- makes Khoone Geli an ideal place to stay and relax while you also enjoy nature, trekking and water sports. Our services are personalized and tailor made to your wishes.

🍊The name of this fruit has an interesting story in Iran.🍊

We Iranians call citrus fruits of this family torange, narangi , bādrange . and nārange
We also call the color of this fruit narenji (orange).
In English, the color “orange” comes from these same old Persian names.
The English later took the name of the fruit from the Persian‑derived color and began calling it “orange.”
But in Persian, we call the fruit porteghāl (“Portugal”), because it was the Portuguese who first domesticated this fruit and brought it to Iran.
