This doorway once led to a forgotten storage corner of the 11th-century villa.

Now it opens onto a modern bath, a new glass door, and the best pool view in the house.

Eight hundred years on, some walls just needed the right reason to be used again.

We’ve converted this boring basement space into an exciting where meets old stone walls.

The bedroom that goes with it opens directly to the pool and the view looks too beautiful to be true.

But it’s real! Imagine waking up here on a summer morning!

A year ago we decided to convert this poolside room into our fourth bathroom and bedroom.

The room housed a washing machine - what a waste of gorgeous space.

Now we’re done! We picked a minimalist bathtub and wash basin, and travertine tiles to contrast the rustic Tuscan walls. Fantastic lights will be added soon, including a top-notch Murano lamp.

This bedroom has the greatest views! And is just a step away from our pool.
