This year, I discovered the world of ultra-cycling and was immediately drawn to Lost Dot; in awe of riders who take on these incomprehensible competitive adventures, and of those who dedicated their lives to make it possible.
TPRNo4 was one of the best experiences that I will never be able to describe. Right places, wrong times, perfect parcours, stunning scenery, and genuinely awesome fellow riders.
I’m terrified of descents, wind, mechanicals, cold hands, food, and Instagram posts. I'm not brave, and a list of what terrifies me would stretch longer than my route. But at this moment what I'm most terrified of is not being one of the hundred FLINTA dots at TCRNo11.
We’ve all got fears, and hands down the scariest thing I've done in cycling so far is putting in my application for TCRNo11. Hopefully I'll be in Spain 2025 with my jersey pockets stuffed full of nerves, and it would be an honour to be there with other riders. Humbled to be there with world record holders and inspirational riders. I'll have to get the confidence to say hello (but that's next year's problem).
Together let's see what's possible, one pedal stroke at a time. Whatever happens, it's going to be fun, an adventure, and an epic achievement getting to the start line. Every km after is a bonus.
