St.Jadoor
Art Gallery Inn
This quiet retreat has seven double bedrooms, shower and toilet facilities and a large communal kitchen.
The rooms are simply decorated, all the furniture is made of recycled wood, and the walls in the lounge and the corridors leading to the rooms are full of paintings and art work.
The gallery building is set in a walled village garden containing lots of fruit trees interspersed with seasonal herbs and vegetables.
Azraq village
Azraq is a natural oasis in the eastern desert of Jordan. It is surrounded by the black desert created by the eruptions of ancient extinct volcanoes that produced massive lava flows and the oasis itself.
The oasis is the most important stop-over for more than 280 species of birds that migrate between north-eastern Europe and east Africa.
Evidence of human presence, of people settling or passing through the area, is clear; in some places the black rocks are full of drawings and inscriptions, and there are huge construction of stones all over the place; theories abound about what they all represent, but what’s important that they are and that they are human work.
The modern village was established in 1918 by the Druze people, who came from the southern highlands of Syria and initially lived inside the 3rd century AD Roman fort, the easternmost fort for the Roman Empire. In 1925/27, Azraq hosted the Druze rebels who were against the French occupation of Syria, some of whom, after liberating Syria, came back and settled in the oasis.
Things to see:

the Wetlands Reserve
