冬の準備。
ゲストハウスハセガワのリムジンのヘッドライトを明るいバルブに交換しました。現車はハロゲンバルブでレトロな感じが気に入っていたので、電球色のLEDを選択。豪雪地な白馬でLEDバルブだと、ヘッドライトにこびり付いた氷が解けずに難儀するんですが、お手軽に光量を増やしました♪

Ready for winter.
I’ve upgraded the headlights on the Guesthouse Hasegawa "limousine" with brighter bulbs. Since I’m fond of the retro look of the original halogen setup, I opted for warm-toned (incandescent-colored) LEDs. In a heavy-snow region like Hakuba, LEDs can be a bit of a drawback—they don’t generate enough heat to melt ice that accumulates on the lenses—but it’s a quick and easy way to boost brightness!

今夜の夕飯は小谷村(白馬の北隣)のソウルフード、まつみ食堂さんのホルモン焼き。
鮮度抜群の豚のホルモンを鉄鍋で焼きながら食べます。ゲストハウスハセガワではすき焼き用の鉄鍋で焼きます👍
まつみ食堂さんは昔はお宿もされていたようですが、今は食堂のみ…と言うか、ほとんどのお客さんは生のホルモンをお持ち帰りされます。
豚のホルモンと聞くとてっちゃん、レバーあたりを想像されるかと思いますが、まつみ食堂さんのホルモンはコブクロ、フワ、コリコリ、ハツ(これ英語に訳せないよね😆)など豚さんを丸ごといただくご馳走です。漬け込んだタレ(味噌と胡麻、ニンニクかなぁ)が唯一無二、中毒性たっぷりで、ついついまた食べたくなっちゃうんですよねー

For dinner tonight, we’re having *horumon-yaki* (grilled offal)—a local soul food from Otari Village, just north of Hakuba—from a place called Matsumi Shokudo. You cook the incredibly fresh pork offal yourself in an iron pan. At Guesthouse Hasegawa, we use a *sukiyaki* pan for this! 👍
Matsumi Shokudo used to offer lodging back in the day, but now it operates strictly as a restaurant—or rather, most customers actually buy the raw offal to take home.
When you hear "pork offal," you might think of things like *tecchan* (large intestine) or liver, but the selection at Matsumi Shokudo includes parts like *kobukuro* (uterus), *fuwa* (lung), *korikori* (aorta/cartilage), and *hatsu* (heart)—it’s a feast that uses the whole animal! The marinade they use—a blend of miso, sesame, and likely garlic—is truly one-of-a-kind and incredibly addictive; once you’ve tried it, you just can’t help but crave it again!

白馬五竜スキー場から今シーズンのオープン日についてアナウンスがありました！
白馬エリアのスキー場はこれまで雪が積もり次第でのオープンでしたが、白馬五竜スキー場は今シーズンから人工造雪機を稼働させ、この時期にオープン日のアナウンスが出来るようになりました！
白馬エリアの他のスキー場にも是非五竜スキー場に追従していただきたいです♪

Hakuba Goryu Ski Resort has announced its opening date for the upcoming season!
While ski resorts in the Hakuba area have traditionally opened only once sufficient natural snow had accumulated, Hakuba Goryu is introducing artificial snowmaking machines this season, making it possible to announce the opening date well in advance.
I really hope other ski resorts in the Hakuba area will follow Goryu's lead!

Shuttle bus services to the resort will begin in late December. If you plan to visit Hakuba before then, a rental car or taxi will be essential.

ゲストハウスハセガワでわたしの次に働き者をご紹介します。
ルンバちゃん2号機。1号機はいかにもアメリカンなお掃除ぶり(お掃除のためなら壁や家具の角が欠けても仕方がないよ！)でしたが、2号機はかなりジャパナイズされています。
しかも掃除機掛けのみならず、雑巾掛けまでしてくれます♪ モップも何度も自動で綺麗にしながらお掃除をしてくれる。2026年度のベストバイだと思います👍

最近のゲストハウスハセガワお昼ご飯の定番はパスタ。
オイルパスタが多いです。今日はフレッシュトマトを強めに焼いて、フライパンのスペースをあけて潰したガーリック、細切りベーコンを焼いて、入れるの忘れてたバジルの茎を投入。隠し味はアンチョビ。
400g(乾麺でね)のパスタ茹でて出したら瞬殺でした。同量のおかわりだそうです😆

Pasta has become a lunchtime staple at Guesthouse Hasegawa lately—usually oil-based pasta.
Today, I seared some fresh tomatoes until they were well-charred, then made some space in the pan to sauté crushed garlic and strips of bacon. I also tossed in the basil stems I’d initially forgotten to add. The secret ingredient? Anchovies.
I boiled up 400g (dry weight) of pasta, and it was devoured in a flash. Apparently, they want another helping of the exact same amount! 😆

夏休み満喫してます👍
今朝は青木湖でカナディアンカヌーツアーをされているヤマニーカワニーさんにお世話になりました。全国的に屈指の透明度を誇る青木湖です。真夏日な白馬ながら、湖の上はやっぱり爽やかです♪

We’re really making the most of our summer vacation! 👍 This morning, we joined a Canadian canoe tour with Yamani Kawani on Lake Aoki—a lake renowned for having some of the clearest water in the country. Even though it’s a sweltering midsummer day in Hakuba, it feels wonderfully refreshing out on the lake. ♪

ヤマメの稚魚放流です♪

姫川上流漁協による放流作業に参加させていただきました。今回はヤマメと言う渓流魚の稚魚(体長10cmほど)放流。
無事に育ってくれるとうれしいです👋
放流場所⁇ それはトップシークレットでございます♪

I had the opportunity to participate in a fish release organized by the Himekawa Upstream Fisheries Cooperative. This time, we released *yamame* (mountain trout) fry—young fish measuring about 10 cm in length.
We hope they grow up healthy and strong! 👋
As for the release location? That is top secret. 🤫

いきなりの告白。どじょうが大好きです❤️
愛でるの(飼育)もやってみたいところながら、どじょうの適温は15〜25℃だそう。白馬だと冬は凍るからなぁ。
食べる方にしようと思います。

A sudden confession: I absolutely love dojo (loaches) ❤️
I’d love to try keeping them as pets, but apparently, their ideal temperature range is 15–25°C. Since it freezes here in Hakuba during the winter...
I think I’ll stick to eating them instead.
