Do concrete buildings speak of history?
Though concrete buildings may be convenient and economical, they fail to capture the character of this town.
Today's Kyoto is searching for profit and no longer respecting its rich past.
Kyoto has a long, rich history and a culture all it's own.
We thought we should showcase this history ourselves by utilizing a "Kyomachiya" (traditional Kyoto style town house) as a hostel. We wish to contribute to the atmosphere of our town by welcoming travelers from abroad and allowing them to experience living "like a native" during their stay in Kyoto.
We want our guests to return home feeling as if they had "lived" in Kyoto for however brief a time, rather than just having stayed there.
We created this hostel so that our guests may enjoy the full Kyoto experience at an affordable rate.
We hope that you will come to see Kyoto through our eyes.
