Tomorrow, July 17th, is the climax of Japan’s most famous festival, Gion Matsuri, a tradition surviving over 1,100 years. ⛩️✨In the morning from 9 AM to 1 PM, it's the Yamaboko Junko parade. 23 huge wooden floats called "Yamaboko" parade through the streets. Try to get a good spot to see the Tsuji-mawashi, when the pullers rotate the 12-ton floats only using wet bamboo slats and muscles! 🪵💦In the evening, from 6 PM, it's the turn of the portable shrines called Mikoshi to do their procession from Yasaka Shrine through the streets to bless the city. 🏮🔥If you are in Kyoto tomorrow, don't miss it! 🎉
