Cushions live in the light. Keep them out of the harshest of it.

Rotate covers away from direct afternoon sun. Spot-clean with mild soap and cold water. Machine-wash covers on a gentle cycle, printed side in. Dry flat, in shade.

This is hand-printed cloth — a little care keeps the colour as vivid as the day it left the table.

Years ago, Helen's mother gave her a tote bag carrying an old print she couldn't stop looking at. The motif stayed with her. The studio redrew it by hand, screen by screen — and named it after the woman who gave it.

Now it lives on cushion covers, printed in Nairobi on 100% Kenyan cotton.

Some prints are designed. Some are inherited.

Gentle detergent, cold wash. Dry in shade — sun fades even the best ink over time. Iron on the reverse of the print. And remember what you're holding: fabric printed by hand, one screen and one colour at a time.

Treat it with care and the colour outlasts the trend.
