So how are your first days of resolutions, recovery and returns to routine kicking off this new year?
On the farm time moves a little differently ... the cows and crops didn't know it was Christmas or that we are now in 2019 or that Liverpool are top of the football league table. They just need to be milked and watered, transplanted, weeded, harvested and cared for each day.
Cultivating this constant attention is one of the things I've been learning and enjoying through 2018 and which will guide the way we manage the farm in 2019.
We're cultivating cycles of knowledge and learning and not just the crops themselves.
I hope we can get the opportunity to welcome you to Lusoi Farm at some point during this year. You're welcome for a day, a couple of nights, for brunch, lunch or dinner ... pass by to see, learn, share and teach us so that we grow together.
The Farm Shop will be open from tomorrow for baskets and brunch and in 2 weeks time we'll be open every day with fresh produce and Chef Kate's fantastic Leah and Gibsons menu.
Thats her๐๐พ dancing with our fresh turnips and watermelon radishes ๐
... She's crafted this amazing "Ngwaci Pie" with our Lusoi Farm Sweet Potatoes ... 'Me I can't get enough of it' on its own or with Ice Cream๐๐พ ... "Imagine it's a must" that you try it.
If you're staring at an empty fridge or k**a "dhania na nyanya zimeisha" let me know and we'll have them delivered. We've got a fresh batch of Managu, Beetroot and Lucky dance Cucumbers to go with our usual products list.
Have a wonderful weekend before school and the office reclaim their time and here's to good health, good food and better decisions about how we eat and recreate our friendships and communities this year.
