Luxury Travel in Asia

Luxury Travel in Asia An insider's guide to the best luxury hand-picked hotels and holidays in South-East Asia (written by Welcome to my world of travel secrets. What does this mean?

My name is Delia and I am a travel consultant for a boutique travel company in London. I basically get to spend a lot of time running around South-East Asia, researching the best boutique hotels, sampling various infinity pools and facing difficult challenges like finding the best beach in Vietnam. (The latter took a lot of sunbathing before I finally discovered the answer). It’s a tough job. And

this little blog is where I get to spill the beans about all my favourite finds. Here you can read all about my favourite luxury hotels, cruises and excursions in this gorgeous little corner of the world. Although it is not all about luxury, as the title suggests. I seek to get my customers off beaten track and away from the crowds but finishing each day with fine food and the perfect pillow of goose-down feathers and Egyptian cotton. I avoid chain hotels and am always searching to find the next hidden gem and secret getaways. So if that’s your thing please do subscribe to my blog and follow my journeys. Oh, and if you want to book a holiday with me, check out www.fleewinter.com and get in touch (my lovely colleagues offer plenty of other smashing destinations too). Typically I’m quite spontaneous with my holidays but April is one of those months where it pays to be a planner and take advantage of a little trick to maximise your holiday time. By using just 8 days of your annual leave sandwiched around the bank holiday and boxed in by the other weekends you .....

Hello from my London office, where the air outside is crisp and bright and I’m really enjoying that it’s time to dig out all my autumnal knits and scarves. However, this time last week I was in Sri Lanka, and quite a bit of me is in mourning for the heat, the curries, the tuk-tuks …

Anyone else feel that autumn is just a very pretty fanfare for the looming winter or that Christmas is the only thing that makes winter bearable at all?! Fret not, you don’t need to wait until December for the festive season to start… we have a better idea, head to Myanmar (Burma) instead - now!

September marks the beginning of the three month festive season in Mayanmar, which by happy coincidence, also marks the end of the rainy season and the beginning of blue, sunny skies! From colourful parades that include giant papier-mâché animals dancing through the streets and the festival of lights where candles light up every home and shop throughout the towns and villages, it is a really unique time to be in the country.

Read the link in our bio for a full low down on the coming festivities!

As the leaves turn golden before falling to the ground and a crisp chill sets into the evenings, one can’t help but feel that autumn is just a (very pretty) fanfare of the looming winter. Whilst I love the warm autumnal colours that set the trees ablaze at this time of year, I can’t help …

People often ask me why I love Southeast Asia so much, why I keep going back year after year, why I dedicated my career to crafting tailor made experiences throughout the region and why, I miss it so much if I’m away for too long. Sometimes I think there is not one word, nor a decent phrase that could possibly begin to sum it up and then I think actually there is one… food.

The food of Cambodia is an experience - not just a meal. For the best street food tour of Phnom Penh head to the local market where you can eat as you walk.
