Dragonfly Lodge & Tavern,
We welcome you at our humble house in the Highlands of Laqlouq/Tannourine.
DRAGONFLY is an Alpine Lodge and Restaurant /pub or Tavern. We organise events that relates to nature in our mountain environment. Located at 1900 meter altitude; the scenery is highly rewarding. (You can see Beirut, Tripoli, faraya-mzar peak from the south and the black peak - kornet el sawda to the North. For View addicts :) , we usually recommend a 10 minutes drive to (Ras el Aren) a higher peak at 2400 meter altitude. Where the view is as far as the eye can see in all directions, also overlooking the famous Aakoura lakes.
To those who are not familiar with the laqlouq area, we are blessed and surrounded by nature's marvels.
The Baatara Gorge Waterfall.
A 10 minutes drive from DRAGONFLY. This waterfall drops 255 meters into the balaa pothole, with a jurassic limestone cave known by - the cave of three bridges.
Ain Al- Libne grotto.
A 15 minute drive from DRAGONFLY. This cave is Lebanon' fifth longest cave with a sinkhole stretching 195 meters deep. This gem cave is a time capsule. And crosses path with the Lebanon Mountain Trail (a popular hiking trail that covers Lebanon from North to South).
Tannourine Cedars Reserve.
A 30 minutes drive from DRAGONFLY.
620 hectares of Lebanese Cedar trees representing 25% of the remaining cedar forest in the country. The reserve is a sanctuary to wildlife and offers magical scenery including the iconic Mount el Rhibaz and the Ain el Raha Valley, where the Walnut River Flows.
Laqlouq Ski Resort
A 5 minute drive from DRAGONFLY.
Whether for skiing or snowboarding, beginner or advanced. Laqlouq Skiing Resort is one of four skiing resorts in Lebanon, offering 6 lifts and covering a 4 km area.
Rock Climbing Tannourine
A 10 minute drive from DRAGONFLY.
Tannourine is know as the sport climbing capital of the country, boasting more than 160 bolted routes across 12 crags. The climbing is divided into two main areas: Tannourine el ta7ta known for its quality limestone and, Tannourine el fawqa offering technical and vertical routes, single and multipitched.
Mountain Range Activities 😀
Daytime and nighttime activities would cover camping & hiking trips, and for the less able we offer Quad(in summer) & Skidoo(in winter). Equipment Rentals include; Back country skiing, Snow shoes.(raquet) & wellies, for climbers we provide hiking and climbing gear.
For those who's adventure include good food 😍. DRAGONFLY pub and Tavern's menu combines a local and international taste. But are proud to say that there are many restaurants in our area and they are all amazing, to each their own specialty.
In a way we all compliment each other.
