Opening in Summer 2025, The Merenchi is a privately owned luxury boutique hotel located in the historic city of Galle, Sri Lanka. Set within the walls of what was once the owner's cherished childhood home, the hotel has been transformed into a living homage to Sri Lanka’s royal past, an intimate palace where the legacy of kings and queens is reborn.
Every corner of The Merenchi is inspired by the ancient monarchs who once ruled Sri Lanka’s kingdoms from Anuradhapura to Ruhuna. The design language reflects the elegance of Sri Lankan courts, the artistry of Sinhalese craftsmanship, and the grandeur of royal palaces. Each of the eight meticulously curated suites pays tribute to a Sri Lankan ruler or royal consort, offering guests the rare opportunity to experience the dignity and detail of royal life reimagined for the modern traveler.
