Hi everyone! For the past two days we’ve been in Haputale, staying at the beautiful hotel on the slope of the tea fields. The hotel and the surrounding area have everything you need — full access to hot water and electricity. We travelled here from Udawalawe by car, and along the way we encountered nothing but stunning, sunny views of the Sri Lankan mountains. The drivers here are very safe.

Today we had a full-day trip to the town of Ella and popular attractions such as the Nine Arch Bridge and Little Adam’s Peak. The roads are fully passable; of course, you can see slight damage from the recent rains, but the locals have worked quickly and efficiently to bring everything back to normal. Haputale and Ella are full of life right now, and everything feels completely safe.

We highly recommend staying in Haputale. The local trails through the tea fields and the local cuisine exceeded our expectations.
